Last spring, Wenatchee High School senior Sophie Macon and 2023 graduates Emmie Sutton and Aylin Orozco submitted their podcast titled to . Their podcast was given an honorable mention out of 3,300 submissions across the country. The piece tells the story of WHS band students who used the green pop-up tents to continue playing music during the pandemic after a photo of students performing went viral. The podcast offers a unique perspective on how the students navigated the challenges posed by the pandemic and continued to pursue their passion for music. This is the second student podcast from WHS to be selected for a national honor from Brandon Harle’s Podcast Storytelling course.
