All science units provide ample opportunity to experience hands-on learning and take part in various engineering projects. Art classes support science learning through targeted art projects and music classes incorporate science based songs. The use of real-world science technology for data collection, recording and analysis supports technology and also math standards.

With a growing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills gap in Washington state, the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education grows every day. 91ÖÆƬ³§ is committed to improving STEM literacy by integrating STEAM into all aspects of the K-12 curriculum (language arts, math, art, music, etc).

91ÖÆƬ³§ Teachers Integrate the 21st century skills of collaboration, communication, problem solving and creativity in their lessons.  Our Science Resource Center provides high quality field experiences for students in grades K-8 that build on classroom learning and focus on real-world experiences. Field experiences are adapted to local/regional industries (agriculture, forestry, geology, hydropower, construction, health services, etc.) partnering with community businesses/agencies to deliver relevant and timely information used by students to understand and solve problems. 

Using an inquiry based approach to engineering design and problem solving, students are involved in relevant, hands-on learning projects. Students use a variety of technology tools to gain necessary information, collect data, and analyze data.
